Spring Creek Lodge Academy Withdraws From World Wide Association of Specialty Programs & Schools

Spring Creek Lodge Academy, a specialty boarding school in Thompson Falls, Mont., (SCLA) today announced its withdrawal from the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools (WWASPS).

Thompson Falls, MT (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) June 23, 2006 -- Spring Creek Lodge Academy, a specialty boarding school in Thompson Falls, Mont., (SCLA) today announced its withdrawal from the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools (WWASPS).

Chaffin Pullan, Assistant Director of SCLA, referred to the school’s association with WWASPS as “a positive relationship that initially provided us with a very supportive network.” However, Pullan explained that SCLA has evolved into a unique and independent program. He does not foresee any significant changes in the school’s day-to-day operations as a result of the split.

“Since our vision has gradually changed and SCLA already looks so different from other WWASPS schools, the next logical step is to acknowledge those differences and move on,” said Pullan.

Pullan noted that WWASPS had received significant media scrutiny over the years, which has not helped SCLA’s reputation. However, he affirmed that this was not the primary reason for leaving the organization. “It’s a question of what we are now able to provide our students and families on our own as opposed to what we’ve done in the past with WWASPS’s help,” says Pullan.

WWASPS is an affiliation of (now) four specialty boarding schools located in the United States and Jamaica. It is headquartered in St. George, Utah.

NOTE: though this article claims WWASP is affiliated with only four specialty boarding schools, as of May 2006, it is believed that WWASP aka WWASPS or Premier Educational Systems has affiliations with the following:

  • Academy of Ivy Ridge, NY (Recently withdrew their affiliation with WWASPS)

  • Canyon View Park, MT

  • Camas Ranch, MT

  • Carolina Springs Academy, SC

  • Cross Creek Programs, UT (Cross Creek Center and Cross Creek Manor

  • Darrington Academy, GA

  • Help My Teen, UT (Adolescent Services Adolescent Placement) Promotes and markets these programs.

  • Horizon Academy, NV

  • Lifelines Family Services, UT (Promotes and markets these programs).

  • Majestic Ranch, UT

  • Midwest Academy, IA (Brian Viafanua, formerly the Director of Paradise Cove as shown on Primetime, is the current Director here).

  • Pillars of Hope, Costa Rica

  • Pine View Christian Academy (Borders FL, AL, MS)

  • Reality Trek, UT

  • Red River Academy, LA (Borders TX)

  • Royal Peak Academy, CO (It is believed that Randall Hinton - who admitted using pepper spray on teens - is employed at this facility).

  • Sky View Academy, NV

  • Spring Creek Lodge, MT (withdrawing their affiliation with WWASP)

  • Tranquility Bay, Jamaica
