Headmaster Charged With Sex, Child Abuse

The Utah attorney general's office says that the headmaster of a private boarding school in Rich County is charged with sexually abusing a girl and assaulting one boy and threatening to kill another.

Wayne E. Winder, 35, director of Majestic Ranch Academy was arrested and released yesterday on 30-thousand dollars in bail.

Winder also is charged with the felony of showing another boy pornography. Another felony count accuses him of sexual abuse, and three misdemeanor counts allege child abuse.

In all, Winder is accused of corrupting five children under 15 years old.

State investigators interviewed all 41 students at the school and nine other people before filing charges.

Winder's first court appearance is set for Tuesday in Randolph, Utah.
