Psychologist Charged With
Raping 15-Year-Old Patient
Associated Press
ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. - A
psychologist from Bardstown has been charged with raping a
15-year-old male client at a psychiatric facility for adolescents in
Hardin County.
Shannon Elizabeth Yager, 36,
was indicted on 12 counts of third-degree rape in Nelson Circuit
Court. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Court records show that
state police have Yager's taped confession of the relationship.
Yager was indicted in May. The boy's father told police his son
bragged about having sex with Yager while he stayed at Spectrum Care
Academy, where Yager worked the night shift.
The documents report that
Yager and the boy had a sexual relationship in 2003 and 2004. Both
told investigators they were in love.
Officials at the academy
could not be reached for comment.
In March, police obtained
Yager's taped confession, according to court records. She resigned
from the facility in January 2004, but continued to help out for
another four months.
In addition to the
third-degree rape charges, Yager is accused of third-degree sodomy,
second- and third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor,
permitting an unlicensed operator to operate a motor vehicle,
possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Her trial date is set for
Aug. 29.
