Restraint death of 7-year old girl:

June 10, 2006 - Angellika Arndt, a 7-year old little girl, died May 26, 2006, at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.   She was a day patient at the Northwest Counseling and Guidance Clinic in Rice Lake. She had "acted out" in the kitchen, then put in a restraint hold by two staff members. They then took her to a "safe" room next door where they proceeded to restrain her, on the floor, for another 40 minutes. When she calmed down and was no longer struggling they released her. They noticed she was no longer breathing. She was taken to the hospital where she died a day later. Her death, which continues to be investigated, is being ruled a homicide.
