Boston, MA – Governor Mitt Romney today announced the first group of Romney for President Exploratory Committee National Finance Co-Chairs. These men and women from across the country will help support Governor Romney as he builds the organization necessary to campaign for our nation's highest office.

"I am proud to have the support of these outstanding leaders. Together, they represent some of the best of America's entrepreneurial innovation and civic engagement. Their work will help provide the resources needed to continue our discussion with the American people about the solutions to a new generation of challenges," said Governor Romney.

All of Governor Romney's first group of National Finance Co-Chairs have been actively involved in national politics, and six were previously either Bush/Cheney '04, Inc. Pioneers or Rangers. Additional groups of National Finance Co-Chairs will be announced at a later date, as will a national finance committee, which will include state finance chairs and other significant organizational supporters.

  • Mark Guzzetta, President of Gemstone Development, Florida
  • Jon Huntsman Sr., Chairman of the Huntsman Corporation, Utah

  • John Rakolta, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Walbridge Aldinger, Michigan
  • Ambassador Mel Sembler, Chairman of the Board of The Sembler Company and former ambassador to Italy, Australia, and Nauru, Florida (former owner of Straight, Inc.)
  • Tom Tellefsen, President of Tellefsen Investments, California
