investigation. 15-year old squad leader Brandon Scott
believes he died of dehydration. He did not eat for days,
according to other children, and complained of stomach pain.
He died in the middle of the night after getting up to use
the bathroom.

to the stomach, caused by "forceful impact by or
against" a smooth object, about two inches wide.
It apparently happened several days before he
died, according to the report. The force ripped
apart his small intestine and bowel tissues,
unleashing a torrent of blood and an infection.
